Annual Leadership Meeting
One hundred area managers of a nationally recognized bookseller were introduced to the company’s leadership competencies by participating in a one-day session of Impact5: The Business of Leadership Game™. They chose to conduct Impact5: The Business of Leadership Game to establish clear expectations of leaders' roles and how they relate to the competencies. The high-energy session included breakouts in which participants examined "real-life" situations, determined action items and analyzed the impact these actions would have on the business. This created a powerful one-day event for the entire field management team.
Human Resource Managers’ Event
A Fortune 500 health care software company wanted its 125 human resource managers to become better organizational business partners. Understanding more about the business side of the company was considered key to developing the kind of knowledge and skill that would increase their credibility and contribution to the organization. The company decided to conduct a one-day session of Zodiak®: The Game of Business Finance and Strategy during its annual three-day HR event. In teams of four, learners became owners of the Zodiak Company and handled challenges, made decisions and analyzed their financial results. As million-dollar chips flowed around the game board, these managers learned the language of business as well as the strategic and financial decisions and actions that drive success. Custom-designed “Connections” exercises helped link insights from the game to their own effectiveness as internal business partners. An added benefit: a great team-building experience as the groups competed to become the most successful Zodiak company!
All-Employee Communication Event
A leading consumer marketing company needed a proactive way to communicate an upcoming merger with a sister company. Senior management knew that major culture shifts were on the way and wanted to create an opportunity for positive dialogue about the change. They decided to assemble all 300 employees in a one-day, off-site session in which the merger would be communicated in the morning, followed by participation in Paradigm Learning’s Right Turns®: Change in Action program. During Right Turns, small teams of employees gathered around the table-sized Discovery Map. They were guided by activity and discussion cards, exploring the change in more detail as they discussed how the change would progress, what success would look like, how behaviors and emotions could help or hinder success, and what actions would be needed from employees and managers throughout the organization. During a time of relative uncertainty, participants were able to consider specific issues around the merger and have meaningful discussions around their particular role. The event was energizing and enlightening and helped set the stage for a successful merger. |
